Y Chromosome

Y Chromosome testing can be performed to verify a male lineage over several generations. Y Chromosome testing is often used in criminal cases as well.

The statistics provided by Y chromosome analysis are not usually as powerful as 15 locus autosomal DNA testing for direct relationships, but often become very useful in trying to establish more distant relationships that cannot be determined by standard autosomal DNA testing.
